The Museum of Science hosts and develops many large exhibits for both traveling and permanent galleries. Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination was a large (10,000 sq.ft.+) exhibit which was developed at the museum and traveled around the country and to Australia for 7 years.
I was the Lead Graphic Designer for the exhibit, beginning with the exhibit development through the installation at the museum. I was a core exhibit team member designing the hierarchy of labels from large section content to small provenance, as well as marketing banners, backgrounds for cases, onscreen graphic assets and instruction panels throughout the exhibit. I trained and oversaw the work of junior designers and was responsible for budgeting and scheduling with printers and fabricators.
Throughout the time that the exhibit traveled, I was the main contact for updating and refurbishing the labels and signs as needed.
Other large exhibits include: The Quest for Immortality, a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian which the museum redeveloped from an art exhibit to an archaeological exhibit.
Permanent exhibits include: Colossal Fossil: Triceratops Cliff, Playing By the Rules (incorporating the Virtual Fish Tank), New England Habitats and others.
